Miltiadis Tentoglou named top athlete in the Balkans for 2024
Miltiadis Tentoglou has been recognized as the top athlete in the Balkans for 2024. The greatest long jumper on the planet and one of the top athletes in all disciplines over the past four years was awarded at the Balkan Union Gala, which took place on Saturday night in Sofia.
Tentoglou advances to Paris Olympics final
Greek long jumper Miltos Tentoglou, the Tokyo 2020 gold medalist, advanced to the final of the Paris Olympics with an 8.32-meter jump. He will compete on Tuesday.
In other events, Greek high jumper Tatiana Gusin and hammer thrower Christos Frantzeskakis will make their Olympic final debuts.

Ukrainian High Jumper Breaks Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova's 37-Year-Old Record
Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has broken Stefka Kostadinova's long-standing world record in the women's high jump. The 22-year-old Mahuchikh cleared 2.10 meters on her first attempt at this height during the Diamond League athletics tournament in Paris, as reported by BTA.

Background
On August 30, 1987, at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, Stefka Kostadinova set a new world record by clearing 2.09m. Her previous best was also her own record of 2.08m, achieved in 1986 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
High Jump Bronze to Angelina Topić! VIDEO
Serbian athlete Angelina Topi (17) won a bronze medal in the high jump final of the European Championships in Munich.
Only Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Marija Vukovi "flew" over 195.
Both jumpers cleared 1.95m, but the Ukrainian won the title on count back.
Angelina Topic rounded off the podium with a 1.93m-clearance.
