Russia called on the UN Security Council April 4 to push for a pause in the air war in Yemen, as a Saudi-led coalition pounded rebels in the country for a 10th day.
      
Yemen's main southern city, a last foothold of supporters of self-exiled President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, has been shaken by more than a week of clashes between Shiite Huthi rebels and loyalist militia.

Turkish citizens, who were earlier evacuated from Yemen via a Turkish navy vessel, have taken a flight from Djibouti to Istanbul, official sources told The Anadolu Agency on April 4.

Turkey evacuated 55 of its nationals from the Yemeni city of Aden on April 3 with a military boat amid fighting and a bombing campaign from regional Sunni powers, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu said.

The boat will take the Turkish nationals to Djibouti, where they will take a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight to return home, Çavu?o?lu wrote on his Twitter account.

More than 500 die in Yemen during past two weeks

519 people, 90 of them children, have been killed in the fighting in Yemen during the past two weeks, while some 1,700 others have been wounded.
