BELGRADE - Serbia and the United States will sign an agreement on direct flights in the next few weeks and the flights should be introduced by the end of the year, Serbian Minister of Transport Zorana Mihajlovic said Tuesday.

UAE partner to own 68 percent stake in Belgrade Waterfront

BELGRADE -- Under the Belgrade Waterfront project construction contract, signed on Sunday, the Republic of Serbia will own 32 percent of equity.

68 percent to be owned by a United Arab Emirates-based partner.

BELGRADE - The contract on joint investments in the Belgrade Waterfront project, worth around EUR 3.5 billion, was signed in Belgrade on Sunday, and is expected to provide a significant boost to the Serbian economy, engage the construction industry and ensure new jobs.

BELGRADE - For the past two decades, Serbia has ranked first in the region - and second in the world - in emigration of young and educated people, the participants of the Youth Economic Forum at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia warned on Wednesday.

Oliver Antic, the advisor to Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, has rejected claims made in an official report that the plane due to take Nikolic to Rome on April 17 had to return to Belgrade because "coffee was spilled in the cockpit".

Antic on Wednesday instead laid the blame for the incident on Zorana Mihajlovic, the Serbian Transport Minister.

Adviser "blames minister" for plane engine failure

BELGRADE -- Presidential adviser Oliver Antic has said that Minister Zoran Mihajlovic is to blame for the malfunction of a government plane.

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said on Friday that she expects that the reconstruction of around 500 kilometres of rail lines will be completed over the next three years and that the public railway company will be fully reformed.

BELGRADE -- A minister has "expressed hope" that the president "respected procedures and rules" while deciding on the participation of Serbian soldiers in a Moscow parade.

More Serbia-Switzerland flights announced

BELGRADE -- Transport Minister Zorana Mihajlovic and Swiss Ambassador to Serbia Jean-Daniel Ruch signed on Wednesday an air transport agreement.

The agreement between the two countries "clears the way for more flights," Tanjug said.
