Istanbul police seized 2 tons of marijuana during an anti-narcotics operation on Feb. 12, Turkey's interior minister said.

A total of 727 kilograms of drugs were seized during anti-narcotics operations across Turkey on April 4, according to a security source.

At least eight suspects have been taken into custody during anti-narcotics operations across Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on March 15.

The fight against narcotics is a matter that concerns the entire nation, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş has said, calling on civil society to support a government-led fight against drug trafficking. 

Bulgaria is strategically situated along the Balkan Route for illicit drugs and other contraband trafficked from Southwest Asia into Western Europe, according to a report of the U.S. Department of State.

OBRENOVAC - A total of 565 kilograms of seized narcotics worth over RSD 1 billion were burnt in the Nikola Tesla thermal power plant in Obrenovac on Monday.

The incineration of heroin, hashish and marijuana seized by the police in the previous period was attended by Serbian Minister of Interior Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic who said that some of the drugs were confiscated back in 1995.
