Hellenic Navy band rocks “Despocito” in Thessaloniki (video)
The Greek Navy band was added the long list of those who played a cover of the huge hit pop song “Despacito” (Slowly). The hit song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and rapper Daddy Yankee, was the first music video to hit 4 billion views on Youtube. The Hellenic Navy band performed the song during celebrations of the “Votseia 2017” in Thessaloniki to the delight of the spectators.
Record-breaking singer Fonsi shakes Antalya
Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi gave a glimpse of his quick rise to stardom to his fans in Antalya with a performance on the night of Aug. 8.
Making a guest appearance on the stage of DJ Gianluca Vacchi at Regnum Carya Resort in Belek, Fonsi sang "Despacito," which has already made its mark in 2017 twice amid major fanfare.

The Malaysian authorities banned the broadcasting of the hit Latin song "Despacito" on public radio stations because of its sexual subtext. This happened after muslim critics in the country called the song "non-Islamic", according to BGNES.

Portuguese singer Teresa Salgueiro will be on stage for the first time in Ankara.
Best known as the lead singer of Madredeus from 1987 until 2007, Salgueiro also participated as lead actress in a feature film by Wim Wenders, "Lisbon Story."

José Feliciano to perform in Istanbul
Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso José Feliciano will take the stage at Zorlu PSM Center on Nov. 29.
Feliciano gained worldwide success in the 1960s when he covered the famous The Doors hit, "Light My Fire" in 1968, the same year in which he won two Grammy Awards.
Feliciano later combined flamenco, soft rock, pop and Latin to create a unique blend of sound.

Colombia's 'La 33' set to shake Antalya
A concert featuring Orquesta La 33 (popularly known as La 33), a Colombian salsa music band, will be held in August at EXPO 2016 in the southern resort of Antalya, Colombian Ambassador to Turkey Juan Alfredo Pinto has said.
According to Pinto, Columbia's La 33 is the best salsa orchestra in the southern hemisphere.

She was born in 1977 as Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll and she is the only child of her parents.

Latin music world honors Roberto Carlos
The Latin music world turned out on Nov. 19 to celebrate Roberto Carlos, the Brazilian ballad singer who is one of the region's most successful artists.
The 74-year-old nicknamed the "King of Latin Music" was named Person of the Year at the Latin Grammys, a day before the Spanish- and Portuguese-language music industry's biggest award night.
