Bulgaria: The Alley next to the Russian Embassy will not be Renamed “Heroes of Ukraine”, for now
Sofia Regional Governor Ivan Kyuchukov has declared illegal the decisions to rename an alley and a square to "Heroes of Ukraine Alley" and "Boris Nemtsov Square" near the Russian Embassy, as well as raising the Ukrainian flag over the Sofia Municipality building.

Bulgaria: Alley and a Garden next to the Russian Embassy will be renamed "Heroes of Ukraine" and "Boris Nemtsov"
The alley, located between Dragan Tsankov Boulevard and the fence of the Russian Embassy in Sofia, will be named "Heroes of Ukraine". This was voted by the municipal councilors in Sofia Council. The alley is located along 96 meters between Nezabravka Street and Nikola Mirchev Street.
The decision was taken with 36 "For", 16 "Against" and none abstained.
143 years since the Proclamation of Sofia as the Capital of Bulgaria
On April 3, 2022, we celebrate 143 years since the declaration of Sofia as the capital of Bulgaria. This historic decision was made by the Constituent Assembly of the Principality of Bulgaria at the suggestion of Prof. Marin Drinov.
The date 22.III / 03.IV.1879 remains forever in the history of Sofia.
