Fenerbahçe knocked out of Champions League

Fenerbahçe exited the Champions League after losing 2-1 in extra time to Lille in the second leg of the third qualifying round on Aug. 13 night.

Jonathan David's penalty secured Lille a place in the next round as the French club snatched a 3-2 aggregate victory in Türkiye, marking a disappointing start to Jose Mourinho's time in charge of Fenerbahçe.

Fenerbahçe manage to get home draw with 99th minute goal

Fenerbahçe managed to get a 2-2 draw against Yukatel Kayserispor with a last minute goal in the Turkish Süper Lig week 12 game on Nov. 7.

Irfan Can Kahveci missed the chance to take the lead for Fenerbahçe as he could not score a penalty in the 33rd minute.

But Kayserispor drew first blood with Dimitrios Kolovetsios' goal in the 39th minute.

Fenerbahçe lose to Konyaspor 2-1, bothered after 3 injuries

Fenerbahçe was beaten by İttifak Holding Konyaspor 2-1 in a Turkish Spor Toto Süper Lig match on Oct. 30 but lost more than three points.

The Istanbul team is bothered after three injuries as Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo, Ecuadoran forward Enner Valencia and Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayındır sustained injuries each to leave the match in the second half.

Turkey lose against Switzerland 3-1, out of EURO 2020

Turkey's EURO 2020 journey ended without any point after losing against Switzerland 3-1 in their last Group A match on June 20 at the Baku Olympic Stadium.

Turkey was close to score just in the fourth minute, but Kaan Ayhan's powerful long-range strike was blocked by goalkeeper Sommer.

Switzerland took an early lead in their first attempt.

Galatasaray beat Fenerbahçe1-0 at Kadıköy

Galatasaray claimed a 1-0 away victory against Fenerbahçe in Feb. 6's Turkish Süper Lig derby.

Fenerbahçe hosted Galatasaray at the most anticipated game of week 24 at the Ülker Stadium.

In the 39th minute, Galatasaray goalie Fernando Muslera produced a brilliant save to tip over a strike from Jose Sosa.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half.

PSG beat Başakşehir to win Champions League group

French football powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) hammered Turkey's Medipol Başakşehir 5-1 in Dec. 9's UEFA Champions League match to win Group H.

PSG drew the first blood at their home Parc des Princes.

In the 21st minute, Brazilian superstar Neymar sent a curling shot outside the area to beat Başakşehir goalkeeper Mert Gunok.

Turkish midfielder in Champions League Team of Week

Medipol Başakşehir's Turkish midfielder Irfan Can Kahveci has been selected for the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week on Dec. 3 for his hat-trick against RB Leipzig Wednesday night.

UEFA announced the Champions League team of the week five on its website as Kahveci, 25, who scored three goals in Wednesday's match against Germany's Leipzig, was picked for it.

Başakşehir knocked out of Champions League

Turkish football club Medipol Başakşehir have been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League over Dec. 2's 4-3 loss against Germany's RB Leipzig in Istanbul.

Başakşehir lost at home but fought well, scoring 3 goals.

Istanbul club's Turkish midfielder Irfan Can Kahveci was on fire as the 25-year-old netted three goals to keep Başakşehir's hopes alive.
