Turkey pursuing suitable economic policy: Erdoğan

Turkey's president on May 27 spoke in support of the country's economic policy program, underlining that it is consistent and suitable given the current situation in the world.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a speech at the opening ceremony of the headquarters of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK) in Istanbul.

Erdoğan congratulates Pakistan's new prime minister

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Pakistan's new Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a phone call on April 11. 

According to the Turkish Communications Directorate, Erdoğan called Sharif after he took the oath of office.

Sharif was sworn-in on Monday after former Premier Imran Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote that he attempted to thwart. 

Turkey will not remain silent to Greek military acts on islands: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Feb. 15 warned against attempts by Greece for the armament of the Aegean islands.

"It is not possible for us to remain silent about the military activities carried out in violation of the agreements on the islands with disarmed status," Erdoğan told journalists traveling with him from the United Arab Emirates to Turkey.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Dec. 2 stated that the national naval artillery is equipped with a digital fire control system developed with domestic and national means and that the Turkish Naval Forces will have much stronger and more effective mobility once this weapon system is included in the inventory.

Turkey forecasts ending 2021 with 9% growth, Erdoğan says

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Oct. 18 Turkey forecasts ending the year 2021 with a 9% economic growth.

"While most of the G20 countries threw in the towel in 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, we became the second-largest growing country among them by expanding 1.8%," he said, speaking at Turkey-Angola Business Forum.
