Baykar’s Selçuk Bayraktar Türkiye’s highest taxpayer
Selçuk Bayraktar, chairman and chief technology officer (CTO) of Türkiye's leading drone maker Baykar, topped the list of highest-income taxpayers in 2023, the country's Revenue Administration said on Aug. 28.
Last year, 1.95 billion Turkish Liras ($52.4 million) of income tax accrued to Selçuk Bayraktar.

Abducted Turkish ship crew freed
Six Turkish personnel who were abducted on April 11 from their ship off Nigeria's Port Harcourt have been released, a lawyer of their shipping company said on April 25.
Fehmi Ülgener wrote in a statement that the abducted personnel of the ship, ?lkay Olgun, Haluk Buran, Furkan Topcu, Mehmet Babacan, ?ükrü Dömbek and Eray Falay, were set free and in a good health condition.
