Tragic Accident in Northwestern Turkey Claims Lives and Injures Dozens

A devastating chain accident in the northwestern Turkish province of Sakarya resulted in a tragic toll this morning. According to reports from the Anatolian Agency, ten individuals lost their lives, while over 50 sustained injuries in the incident on the Northern Marmara highway toward Istanbul.

An Earthquake Shook Turkey

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake was registered this morning in Manisa, Western Turkey, Turkish private television station CNN-Turk reported.

According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate, the quake was registered at 5.49 am local and Bulgarian time in the area of Kirkagach.

The earthquake was at a depth of seven kilometers below the earth's surface.

An Earthquake in Istanbul

A 3.8 magnitude earthquake was registered in the Black Sea near Istanbul, Turkish private television NTV reported.

According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate, the quake struck at 2:56 this night, 18 km away from the Istanbul municipality of Arnavutköy.

The earthquake, which was about 7 km deep, was felt in many areas of the metropolis.
