Drone operator arrested for allegedly causing East Attica wildfire
Fire service officials have arrested a man accused of operating the drone that likely caused the wildfire in the East Attica area of Glyka Nera on Wednesday.

Four detained over East Attica fire
Authorities have detained four people in connection with a fire that broke out on Wednesday, shortly after 2 p.m., in the East Attica suburb of Glyka Nera, according to reports.
The mayor of Paiania, of which Glyka Nera is a part, Isidoros Madis, told Kathimerini that according to an eyewitness, the fire was likely caused by a drone that crashed into the foothills of Mount Ymittos.

Wildfire erupts in East Attica
A wildfire broke out Wednesday afternoon on Mount Ymittos, near Glyka Nera in East Attica. The blaze, burning near a residential area, has prompted a 112 emergency alert.
The fire department spokesman Vasilis Vathrokogiannis reported to Kathimerini that the fire started in a forested area on the northern side of Mount Ymittos and is moving toward the mountain.

Annual hotel expo moved to November
The organizers of the 100% Hotel Show, the annual exhibition for tourism accommodation professionals, announced that the fair is being moved a week earlier this year.
Held annually at the Mediterranean Expo Center in Paiania in eastern Attica, the event will be held on November 9-11.
Organizers added that it will also be shifting more toward luxury tourism.

Coach crashes into utility pole in Paiania, driver slightly injured
A coach bus veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole on Lavriou Avenue in Paiania, eastern Attica, just before 6 a.m. on Monday.
The 57-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Athens' Evangelismos Hospital for treatment. No passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Man, 51, charged with attempted murder of police officers
A 51-year-old Albanian national was charged on Saturday with attempting to murder police officers and larceny.
He was arrested last Thursday, in the town of Peania, in eastern Attica, for opening fire on police.
