Delo reports SPIRIT agency director resigned
Ljubljana – After Tomaž Kostanjevec stepped down as a member of the supervisory board of Pošta Slovenije earlier this week, he also resigned as director of the SPIRIT agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship and investment, the newspaper Delo reported on Saturday.

Slovenia’s Expo pavilion and partners to launch new sustainable initiative
Ljubljana – An initiative in which the company Knauf Insulation and its partners Riko and Sophia Academy focus on a comprehensive approach to sustainable development and living will be launched in Dubai in January as part of Slovenia’s Expo showcase under an agreement signed on Thursday.

Ljubljana – Slovenia has slid five spots in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking to 40th among 64 countries, with the Covid-19 pandemic perceived as the main reason as it has significantly affected the competitiveness of all regions, countries and industries.
Slovenia preparing strong business programme for Dubai Expo
Ljubljana – Slovenia will focus on three segments at the Dubai Expo this year: know-how, economic opportunities, and unique sustainable experiences. Its showcase will go beyond the pavilion and a strong business programme is planned, Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek told the press on Tuesday.
Businesses invited to join Expo showcase in Dubai
Ljubljana – The organisers of the Slovenian Expo 2020 pavilion invited Slovenian companies to join the world exposition in Dubai with an online event on Wednesday. “Expo 2020 will likely be the only major international event for a long while, thus we would like for Slovenia to use it well,” said Tomaž Kostanjevec, director of the SPIRIT agency.

Hospitality and tourism to get EUR 36m to keep afloat
Ljubljana – The SPIRIT agency issued on Thursday a second call for micro, small and medium-sized tourism and hospitality companies for the co-funding of operating costs in the first wave of the epidemic in spring 2020. EUR 36.2 million is available and over 6,000 companies are expected to apply, with the aid to be paid out at the end of June.
Business excellence award goes to Ptuj health centre
Ljubljana – This year’s national award for business excellence and international five-star excellence certificate EFQM have been bestowed on the Ptuj Community Health Centre. Investment agency Spirit Slovenija welcomed the fact that the winner is a public sector organisation.
Slovenia officially takes over its pavilion at Dubai Expo
Dubai – Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek symbolically took over on behalf of Slovenia the management of the country’s pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai as part of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The minister said at the ceremony on Tuesday that “Slovenia will show know-how, innovation and energy at the Expo”.
Slovenia’s Expo Dubai pavilion ready for showcase
Ljubljana – Slovenia is to take over the management of its pavilion at Expo Dubai next week on the sidelines of Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek’s visit to the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition is to help with Slovenia’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, said the minister Tuesday.

Kranj-based Eurotronik named ITM exporter of the year
