Djokovic beats Safiullin to advance to Shanghai Masters quarter-finals

SHANGHAI - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters after a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Russian Roman Safiullin in the fourth round of the tournament on Wednesday.

World number four Djokovic, who won after 74 minutes of play, is now 3-0 head-to-head against Safiullin, who ranks 61st in the ATP rankings.

Djokovic to face Germany's Hanfmann in Geneva second round

GENEVA - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will face German Yannick Hanfmann in the second round of the Geneva ATP tournament.

Djokovic was seeded in the opening round, while Hanfmann beat Briton Andy Murray 7-5, 6-2 on Tuesday in a match that was delayed by rain on Monday.

World number 85 Hanfmann has never played against Djokovic.
