We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria

After ten failed attempts to elect a speaker, Bulgaria's parliament finally reached a decision, appointing Assoc. Prof. Natalia Kiselova from the "BSP - United Left" as Speaker of the National Assembly. Her candidacy received 140 votes in favor, with 93 against.

In Bulgaria, the political climate remains tense as parties struggle to form a stable coalition following parliamentary elections. The uncertainty has persisted, with significant divisions between key political groups such as GERB, "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

The 51st National Assembly has failed for the fifth time to elect a Speaker, as the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP)-United Left maintained its position and did not support Silvi Kirilov, the candidate from "There Is Such a People" (TISP). Meanwhile, internal divisions persist within "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), with some members opposing Kirilov's nomination.

The Bulgarian National Assembly continued its efforts to elect a Speaker, but for the fourth consecutive time, no candidate managed to secure the necessary support. In today's first voting session, the stalemate persisted.

The GERB party plans to call on the Sofia Municipal Council to reverse its decision to establish refugee centers in the "Vitosha" and "Oborishte" districts. Vanya Tagareva, chairman of the Commission for Public Order and Security, has proposed this initiative.

Several Bulgarian politicians have extended their congratulations to the nation on the occasion of Unification Day.

The "Volt" party, established by Nastimir Ananiev, will not participate in the upcoming October 27 elections as part of the "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition. This decision was communicated by Simeon Trulev, co-chairman of "Volt," in a statement to the media.
