A driver is without a license for 3-month and owes 1 000 leva for driving at the opposite of the Hemus highway. He appealed the punishment to the Shumen district court, but the magistrates confirmed the sanction set by the traffic police.

Police Detain 27 Illegal Migrants Aboard Cargo Train in Bulgaria's Kaspichan

Bulgarian authorities detained 27 foreigners after stopping a cargo transit train for inspection at the railway station in the town of Kaspichan on Sunday evening.

Prior to stopping the train, workers at the railway station in the town of Provadia submitted a signal after noticing people in one of the wagons of the cargo train.

Bulgaria's PM: At least ½ of Hemus Motorway Will Be Ready by End of Term in Office

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has vowed that at least half of the Hemus motorway will be completed by the end of the term in office of the current government.

Speaking Monday at the official opening of the 5 km motorway section connecting Belokopitovo to Kaspichan, Borisov said that a tender for the construction of a new 60 km section was about to be launched.

The Bulgarian cabinet allocated on Thursday BGN 500 000 for archaeological and restoration works at the first Bulgarian capital of Pliska.
