Pedestrian killed in Neo Psychiko, driver arrested
A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Sunday evening in the northern Athens suburb of Neo Psychiko.
The crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on Mesogeion Avenue near Haritonidou Street, officials said.
According to a police report, the pedestrian, identified as a 73-year-old man, was struck while he crossed Mesogeion Avenue on foot.

New ‘crash-and-grab’ robbery takes place in northern Athens suburb
Police on Tuesday were looking for the perpetrators of a robbery in the northern Athens suburb of Aghia Paraskevi that involved a car being driven through the front window of an electronics store.
The incident, which is the latest in a spate of such "crash-and-grab" robberies, took place at around 4 a.m. at a store on central Mesogeion Avenue.
Two of China's largest banks moving to Greece
Two of China's biggest banks plan to do business in Greece, the Bank of Greece, has announced.
Specifically, the central bank informed the Development Ministry on October 31 about the establishment of branchs of a branch of Bank of China (Europe) Luxembourg.
The branch is to be located at Mesogeion Avenue, 2, and has a launch date of November 1, the BoG said.

Wednesday was the sixth anniversary of the murder of Greek musician and rapper Pavlos Fyssas by Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias in Keratsini, a western suburb of Piraeus.
Its trial as a criminal organization is entering the final phase despite the systematic foot-dragging of its cadres, who did not hesitate to insult the memory of the murder victim even during court proceedings.

Golden Dawn moving out of Athens HQ
Moving trucks and crews were spotted on Saturday removing boxes and furniture out of the headquarters of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party on Mesogeion Avenue, north of central Athens.
According to a post by a user on Twitter, the operation included the removal of the party's sign from the office building's facade.

A woman was killed on Athens' Mesogeion Avenue late on Wednesday night after the car she was driving veered off course and smashed into a protective barrier.
4 detained over attack on Environment ministry
Police have detained four persons over an early morning attack with paint on the Environment Ministry's offices on Mesogeion Avenue.
The perpetrators, riding motorbikes, threw the paint at the ministry's offices, shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday and they sped away. A glass front was damaged in the attack, which is in the style of self-styled "anarchist collective" Rouvikonas (Rubicon).

Probe launched into causes of Athens bus fire
A probe has been launched to determine the causes of a fire that broke out on a city bus while it was in motion on Mesogeion Avenue in the northern Athens suburb of Aghia Paraskevi on Friday.
According to the fire service, the bus had not been carrying passengers when the fire broke out.
Six firefighters, manning two engines, were dispatched to the scene to put out the blaze.
