EgyptAir Hijacker Surrenders, Hostages Released

The suspected hijacker of EgyptAir Flight MS181 has surrendered to Cypriot authorities at Larnaca airport, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

The hijacker has emerged from the EgyptAir airrilner with his hands in the air and most of the passengers and crew who were on board had been freed, Reuters quoted the Cypriot authorities as saying.

Egypt unveils renovated Tutankhamun gallery

The Cairo government unveiled on Dec. 15 four newly renovated halls of the famed Tutankhamun gallery in the Egyptian Museum as the facility undergoes a complete overhaul.
      
The gallery houses treasures that were found intact in 1922 along with the mummy of the 19-year-old boy king in the temple city of Luxor, and is a world famous tourist attraction.
      

Al-Sisi sees 'new future' for Egypt after Mubarak verdict

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has said Egypt will never return to the past and is charting a new future, after a court dismissed murder charges against former leader Hosni Mubarak.

A Cairo court on Nov. 29 dropped the charges over the deaths of hundreds of protesters during the 2011 uprising that ended three decades of autocratic Mubarak rule.
