JusMin Toader on Superior Council of Magistracy's proposal on appointing chief prosecutors: Laws already adopted
Justice Minister Tudorel Toader told AGERPRES on Thursday, in connection with the proposal of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) to change the procedure for the appointment and dismissal of chief prosecutors, that the Justice laws have already been adopted.
"The laws have already been adopted!," Minister Tudorel Toader said.

IRES survey finds DNA, DIICOT trusted by majority of Romanians
A survey conducted by polling agency IRES (the Romanian Institute for Assessment and Strategy) between March 9 - 10 found that 63 percent of the Romanians have high and very high confidence in the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), while the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) enjoys the trust of 55 percent of the citizens.
EUR 16 ml worth of drugs seized last year
Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Giorgiana Hosu said on Friday that drugs worth a total of 16 million euros have been seized last year.

Two former ministers sentenced to prison for faulty privatizations
The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ, Romania's Supreme Court) sentenced former ministers Codrut Seres and Zsolt Nagy on Tuesday to prison terms in a case on faulty privatizations.

Seres was condemned to 4 years and 8 months in jail, and Nagy to 4 years; the sentences are final.
Supreme Court to rule today on ex DIICOT head's appeal to preventive detention decision
The High Court of Cassation and Justice will weigh on Thursday the appeal filed by former head of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Alina Bica to her being held in preventive detention.
