Dačić "joins SNS celebrations," Dinkić "leaves politics"

BELGRADE -- SPS leader Ivica Dačić has joined celebrations organized by the Progressives (SNS) after their landslide election victory.

According to media crews at the SNS headquarters, Dačić and Vučić have been "engaged in conversation" for over an hour, but, said reporters, "they were not alone."

NS and SPO party leaders Velimir Ilić and Vuk Drašković left the premises shortly before Dačić arrived.

Earlier in the evening, URS leader and former minister Mlađan Dinkić, whose party, according to first projections, failed to win any seats in the new parliament, announced he would "perhaps leave politics."

"I will certainly no longer lead the URS. It's time for some other people, I entered politics by chance and wished to change things for the better in Serbia. We have been in power all the time, were have been in and out, and that's been going on since 2000. It's time for others to take some responsibility, to see what it's like when lies are told about them," he told B92.
