Nikolic:Serbia rises from ashes of decades of lagging growth
PANCEVO - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic opened the works on the construction and electrification of the second track on the reailway section from the Pancevo bridge to Pancevo, near Belgrade, saying that owing to this and similar projects, Serbia continues to rise from the ashes of decades of lagging growth.
“Serbia continues to rise from the ashes of decades of lagging growth owing to her friendship with almost all of the world’s states and nations,” Nikolic said and called on all investors to invests in Serbia, one of the safest destinations for the fertilization of their capital.
We invite all those who lead countries to follow the example of Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, the United States of America and many others and ensure Serbia becomes one of the countries where people do not suffer in poverty but are making a decent living through work, he said.
Nikolic said that Serbia does not owe anybody anything and today it cherishes friendship with everyone and does not want to hold anybody as enemy.
During the ceremony in Pancevo, Nikolic pointed out that the modernization of the Serbia’s railway infrastructure is one of the country’s government priorities, as its development potential will both directly and indirectly influence the development of the entire economy.
The direct impact is reflected in the fact that about 160 thousand people and, more broadly viewed, nearly 500 thousand Serbian citizens, earn a living from activities in the transportation sector, Nikolic said.
The indirect impact of the railway infrastructure development on the development of the entire economy, he said, is reflected in attracting international transit flows.
