31,873 people evacuated so far

BELGRADE - The rescue teams have evacuated 31,873 people from flood-hit areas in Serbia so far, while 2,260 buildings have been flooded and another 1,763 are in danger of the same fate, the Interior Ministry of Serbia said on Wednesday.

The relief efforts have included 3,564 firefighters, 847 vehicles, 429 pumps and 141 boats.

The towns and municipalities that are threatened the most by the floods are:

- In Belgrade: Obrenovac, Umka and Lazarevac

- In the Branicevo county: Kostolac

- In the Macva county: Sabac, Mali Zvornik, Krupanj, Loznica, Ljubovija, Vladimirci, Koceljeva and Bogatic

- In the Srem county: Sremska Mitrovica and Sid

- In the Pomoravlje county: Svilajnac, Cuprija, Paracin and Rekovac

- In the Kolubara county: Valjevo, Ub, Lajkovac, Ljig, Osecina and Mionica

- In the Moravica county: Cacak, Lucani and Gornji Milanovac

- In the Sumadija county: Raca, Knic and Topola

- In the Raska county Kraljevo.

The Serbian rescuers are assisted by teams from Russia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, France, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Denmark and Romania, the ministry stated.
