Pharmacists and doctors worried about lack of cash
Hospital workers and pharmacists on Friday joined the growing list of those concerned about the legislative decree forcing public bodies to deposit their cash reserves at the Bank of Greece so the central government can use them to pay debt obligations.
Unions representing doctors and hospital workers issued concerned statements yesterday despite Health Minister Panayiotis Kouroublis?s assurances that hospitals will continue to function normally, without cutting back on any services.
The pharmacists? union also joined the concerned voices due to healthcare provider EOPYY being behind in payments. ?We understand the problems our country is facing but the health of the Greek people is not negotiable,? said union head Constantinos Lourantos.
