Monaco: Giorgos Papagiannis announced

It had been speculated for days, and he even hinted at it in his statements. Now, the time for the official announcement has come: Monaco has acquired Giorgos Papagiannis for the upcoming 2024-25 season! Just a few hours prior, he was officially released by Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old Greek center (2.20m) is now set to become a resident of Monte Carlo, where he will play for Monaco alongside Mike James and Nick Kalathis, who appears to have played a pivotal role in his departure from the Istanbul club.

Last season in the Euroleague, Papagiannis averaged 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 15:58 minutes per game. He previously played for Panathinaikos, winning three Greek Championships, and has also been a member of the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers.
