Christmas night heist in Nea Makri: €132,000 in cash and jewelry stolen

Precious jewelry and cash were stolen during a heist on Christmas night at a maisonette in Nea Makri, a coastal town east of Athens.

According to the homeowner's report, unidentified perpetrators broke into the property by forcing open the ground-floor balcony door. After thoroughly searching the residence, the burglars removed a safe from the bedroom containing €40,000 in cash and jewelry valued at €92,000.

The thieves also took the keys to two of the homeowner's cars, including a Porsche, as well as a laptop and personal documents.

Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects.
