Turkey has ranked 149th out of 180 countries in Reporters Without Borders' world press freedom index, climbing five places in one year due to the release of a number of journalists, despite mounting criticism against the government's approach to freedom of expression and the media.

President Francois Hollande on Dec. 22 urged the French not to panic as authorities probed the motives and profiles of two men who committed brutal weekend attacks while reportedly shouting "Allahu Akbar".
      

BELGRADE - The Museum of African Art in Belgrade has staged "Echoes...", an exhibition from the sound archives of the Belgian Royal Museum for Central Africa, which will be open to visitors until December 20.
