Russia 'Suspended' From G-8, Says French Foreign Minister

G-8, the group of eight leading economies has suspended Russia's participation in the club, France's Foreign Minister announced.

Die Welt's website quotes Laurent Fabius as saying on Europe-1 radio that "all the other countries, the seven leading countries, will unite without Russia". He also shared the news on his Twitter account.

Dragana Tomasevic 3rd in European Cup

LEIRIA - Serbia's Dragana Tomasevic won 3rd place in discus at the 2014 European Cup Winter Throwing in Leiria, Portugal, on Sunday.

Tomasevic took the 3rd spot by throwing the discus 59.26 m in her 4th attempt.

Melina Robert-Michon of France won the gold with 64.20 m and Anna Ruh of Germany won the silver with 63.21 m.

Five Serbia cities among 10 European cities of future

BELGRADE - The magazine fDi Intelligence has included 5 Serbian cities in its list of top 10 European cities and regions of the future, and it also presented officials of those cities with awards in Cannes, France.

The awards were given out to Zajecar, Zrenjanin, Sremska Mitrovica, Ruma and Vranje. They were picked out of a pool of 468 cities in Europe.

Novak Djokovic reaches Indian Wells quarter-finals

INDIAN WELLS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters Series 1000 tennis tournament early Thursday by beating Marin Cilic of Croatia 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.

In a bid to reach the semi-finals, Serbia's highest-ranking male tennis player will face Julien Benneteau of France, who beat Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Jankovic through to Indian Wells quarterfinals

INDIAN WELLS - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic made her way into the quarterfinals of the premier WTA tournament at Indian Wells after beating Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-3, 6-1 late on Tuesday CET.

The Serb will next face either Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland or Alize Cornet od France.

The total prize money for the tournament is USD 5.94 million.
