Jankovic loses in Tokyo round two
TOKYO - Serbian No. 2 Jelena Jankovic was ousted in the second round of singles at the WTA tournament in Tokyo by Garbine Muguruza of Spain 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 on Thursday.
The fourth-seeded Jankovic failed to justify the role of favorite against the talented 20-year-old.

Jankovic through to doubles semifinals in Tokyo
TOKYO - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain have secured their spot in the doubles semifinals at the WTA tournament in Tokyo.
The Serbian-Spanish pair beat the Russian-Australian combination Alla Kudryavtseva/Anastasia Rodionova 2-6, 6-3, 10-6.

Serbia retain Davis Cup World Group spot
BANGALORE - Serbia's Davis Cup team beat India 3-2 in Bangalore on Monday to retain their World Group spot for next season.
Filip Krajinovic won the decisive point for Serbia in the World Group playoffs by beating Yuki Bhambri 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 on Monday after their match was interrupted due to rain on Sunday.

Tennis-Serbian pair misses chance, India cuts lead to 2-1
BANGALORE - India's Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes defeated Nenad Zimonjic and Ilija Bozoljac 1-6, 7-6 (4-7), 6-3, 6-3, 8-6 in doubles in Bangalore Saturday, cutting Serbia's lead in the Davis Cup World Group Play-Off rubber to 2-1.
Sunday will see two singles matches, where Serbia's Dusan Lajovic and Filip Krajinovic will face India's Somdev Devvarman and Yuki Bhambri, respectively.

BANGALORE - Serbia is within easy reach of survival in the Davis Cup World Group, since it has a 2-0 lead over India after the first day of the 2014 Play-Offs rubber on Friday.
Serbia was given a 1-0 lead by Dusan Lajovic, who defeated Yuki Bhambri 6-3, 6-2, 7-5, and it was increased by Filip Krajinovic beating Somdev Devvarman 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Deadly floods hit Indian Kashmir's Srinagar
Soldiers were battling Sept. 7 to rescue thousands of people trapped in Indian Kashmir's worst flooding for half a century which has left more than 100 people dead and the main city of Srinagar under water.
Some 350 villages have also been submerged since torrential monsoon rains triggered flooding across the picturesque Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir.
