Japanese-Serbian Film Festival to be held in Belgrade

BELGRADE - The Japanese-Serbian Film Festival, a unique artistic exchange between Japan and Serbia, will be held at the Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade on November 5-6.

BUNT festival to be held November 2-14

BELGRADE - The BUNT music festival will be held November 2-14 on multiple locations in Belgrade, a press conference at the French Institute was told Monday.

Composer Ivana Stefanovic said that this year's BUNT will be dedicated to young artists and people with special needs, who will also participate.

Vucic receives Krypton producers

BELGRADE - PM Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday met with the producers of the Warner Bros series Krypton - David S. Goyer, Damian Kindler and Howard Grigsby and Work in Progress Productions Director and Executive Producer Andjelko Vlaisavlevic to discuss incentives for international film productions and plans for a regional film center in Serbia.

BELGRADE - Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded a number of cultural workers with Orders and Medals, one of them being Serbian movie director Emir Kusturica. The related decree was published on the official legal information website on Thursday, TASS reports.

Vukosavljevic, Torkaman open Iran's booth at Belgrade Book Fair

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Culture Vladan Vukosavljevic and the director of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organisation Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman ceremonially opened the Iran booth at the 61st International Belgrade Book Fair on Sunday.

In a statement to Tanjug, Vukosavljevic said the exceptional booth featured children's books, books on Iranian history and Persian poetry.

Nikolic: I do not see anyone who could be better president

KRUSEVAC - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said in Krusevac, central Serbia, on Friday he was still not thinking about the upcoming presidential elections and that, for the time being, he did not see anyone who could do the job better.

Nikolic said he had not requested anyone's support for the presidential polls.

Third international saxophone festival to begin

BELGRADE - The third international saxophone festival "Belgrade SAXperience" will begin Thursday, marking the 170th anniversary of the patenting of the saxophone.

The first night at Dom omladine will feature prominent French jazz saxophonist Baptist Erbane and the Luka Ignjatijevic Quartet, followed by the quartet led by Serbian saxophonist Ugljesa Novakovic.

International Satire fest to be held on October 12

BELGRADE - The international "Satire Fest 2016" festival of humor and satire will take place on October 12 at the Kolarac Foundation, the organizer, the Belgrade Aphoristic Circle, has announced.

The 14th Satire Fest will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of writer Petar Kocic (1877-1916).

New film festival "Cinemafest" at Sava Center

BELGRADE - The new film festival "Cinemafest" will be held at Belgrade's Sava Center from October 29 to November 2, and the audiences will have the opportunity to see features by famous authors and Hollywood stars, the organizers announced Tuesday.

The films were chosen by Ivan Karl and the new Woody Allen film "High Society" will open the festival.
