Agreement on the basics

Achieving consensus between political parties is not always at their discretion. In some matters of major institutional importance, a consensus is required by the Constitution itself.

The repeated failure to staff Greece's independent authorities by the statutory deadlines degrades the already discredited political system. No one wins from blaming the problem on the deadlock between the parties, but the institutions are harmed.
