The main demand is for a decent salaries. They demand a minimum wage of BGN 900 for healthcare professionals in municipal hospitals; BGN 950 for the employees in the university hospitals and respectively BGN 1100 and BGN 1200 starting salary for the doctors.

Crisis for Young Doctors in Bulgaria, in only 5 Years 98% of of Family Doctors Will Be over 50
Every second doctor is over 51 years old. The data is from the Bulgarian Medical Association. Over 60% of the people in white aprons advance to the "third age" column quickly and safely. A quarter of the doctors are already in retirement age. The National Association of General Practitioners estimates that only in 5 years, 98 percent of family doctors will be over 50.

NHIF has Signed an Annex to Raise Prices on Some Clinical Pathways

About 60% of GPs are over 55 years of age and the average age of nurses and midwives is over 53 years.
Aggressive Patients may be Blacklisted by Emergency Care
Patients aggresive to medics should be put on a special "blacklist" and not be visited by doctors in their home, and if specialists really have to go to be escorted by the police. This idea was launched by the President of the Bulgarian Medical Association Ventzislav Grozev. He explained to Nova TV that the list would also inform emergency doctors about having a problem patient.
Doctors and Medical Staff Against the Violence
On 7th of July, Bulgarian doctors attached blue ribbons to their uniforms with the inscription ''No to Violence'' as a protest after the brutal beating of Dr. Albena Gagova from Sheinovo Hospital. She was beaten by the father of a newborn because she refused to give him the baby's placenta, according to BGNES.

Bulgarian Government Reports Budget Surplus of BGN 1.6 Bln
The interim cabinet reported a budget surplus of BGN 1.6 bln in end-April 2017. This transpires in the detailed interim government work report of interim PM Ognyan Gerdzhikov, Focus News Agency reports.
