A Greek track and field athlete has tested positive for a banned substance, according to the Greek Olympic Committee. 

The athlete, who did not advance to the final of her event, was notified of the positive test by the Hellenic Anti-Doping Agency (EOKAN). 

Greek basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo and race walker Antigoni Ntrismpioti have been chosen as the flag bearers for Greece in the Paris Olympic Games.

The selection was made by an absolute majority of the Greek Olympic Committee.

The Olympic flame handover ceremony for the Tokyo Games will take place without spectators in an effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak, the Greek Olympic committee said Monday.

Next week's flame-lighting ceremony for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will go ahead in Greece despite concerns about the virus outbreak.
