Hundreds more lockdown violations recorded
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Friday said that on Thursday they recorded 2,247 violations of a lockdown imposed by the government on March 23 to curb the spread of the coronavirus while arresting another nine people for opening businesses in contravention of a ban imposed by authorities as part of its broader response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hundreds of social distancing violations recorded in one day
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) recorded more than 1,900 violations of social distancing measures in just one day, it said on Thursday.
During nationwide inspections on Wednesday on individuals flouting regulations for stemming public circulation amid the coronavirus epidemic, ELAS officers reported a total of 1,916 violations.

Crime drops amid coronavirus lockdown
The numbers of robberies, thefts and burglaries have dropped by 25 percent nationwide, according to a senior Hellenic Police (ELAS) official.
The sharp decline has been attributed to stringent security measures such as the restrictions on the movement of people and the fact that many are staying at home due to the pandemic, putting prospective burglars on hold.

Crackdown on ban violators continues as millions send SMS requests
As Greece entered the fourth day of a full lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19 on Thursday, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) said that officers recorded 1,155 violations of a ban on unnecessary movement on March 25 and arrested six people for opening their businesses in contravention of government restrictions introduced to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Police record 1,795 lockdown violations in two days
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) announced on Wednesday that on Tuesday they recorded 1,631 violations of a lockdown imposed by the government on Monday to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In all cases, officers imposed a fine of 150 euros on offenders.
A total of 1,795 violations were recorded on Monday and Tuesday, ELAS said.
Police fine 33 for flouting new coronavirus rules
On the first day of Greece's nationwide restrictions on movement, authorities expressed satisfaction with the public's response to the toughened lockdown regulations aimed at stemming the spread of the new coronavirus.
Effective from Monday, those going to or returning from their workplace have to carry a completed form detailing their residence, work address and working hours.
