SNS wins 49 seats in Belgrade city assembly

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) electoral list in Sunday's local polls in Belgrade, named Belgrade Must Not Stop, won 39.34 pct of votes, or 49 seats, in the city assembly.

According to preliminary results based on 92.54 pct of votes counted, the Serbia Against Violence list garnered 32.17 pct of votes, or 42 seats, the city electoral commission said on Monday.

Vucic: SNS to have absolute majority with over 127 seats in parliament

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the leader of the Serbian Progressive Party's (SNS) Serbia Must Not Stop electoral list, said on Sunday evening that, with 76 pct of votes counted but not including votes from Kosovo-Metohija, the list had won 46.5 pct of votes in the Serbian parliamentary elections, or more than 127 seats in the parliament.

Brnabic: With 50 pct of votes counted, SNS list has 47.1 pct

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Sunday evening that, based on 50 pct of votes counted, the Serbian Progressive Party's (SNS) Serbia Must Not Stop electoral list had garnered 47.1 pct of votes in the parliamentary elections, winning the majority of seats in the parliament on its own.

Orlić elected Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, along with the deputy speakers

MP of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Vladimir Orlic was elected parliament speaker in an open ballot, with 154 votes in favor and 76 opposed, out of 230 MPs present.
"154 voted in favor, 76 opposed, while there were no abstentions," MP Vladeta Jankovi announced at 9:30 p.m. as the chairman of the constitutive session of the parliament.
