Serbia Reports EUR 178M Public Debt Increase in February

Serbia's public debt went up by EUR 178M in February reaching EUR 20.4B or 62.9% of the country's GDP, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.

At the end of 2013, the public debt totaled EUR 20.089B or 61.2% of the GDP, and according to the Budget System Law, Serbia's public debt is limited to 45% of the GDP, the BGNES reports.

Budget deficit at RSD 33.4 billion in first two months

BELGRADE - The budget deficit amounted to RSD 33.4 billion in the first two months of 2014, while only in February it stood at RSD 26.4 billion, the Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday.

In February, Serbia made revenues of RSD 58.8 billion, and expenditures of RSD 85.2 billion, not factoring in revenues and expenditures of indirect budget beneficiaries.

BELGRADE/ABU DHABI - Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi and Serbian Finance Minister Lazar Krstic signed in Abu Dhabi on Thursday an agreement on the USD 1 billion loan from the United Arab Emirates to the Serbian budget.
