A suspect, who staged an attack at an Istanbul police station and had previously shot a police officer, was sentenced to aggravated life sentence for "attempting to change the constitutional order," and more than 168 years on multiple charges linked to the incidents. 

A suspect who was detained on allegations of perpetrating a twin bomb attack on June 5 at a Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) rally in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r was arrested on June 10.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirta? has said the assailant who carried out twin bombings against his party's buildings in southern Turkey was linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) rather than the outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).

A suspect of twin bombings at the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) branches in southern Turkey was previously detained in 2007 for his links to Turkey's outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), the Turkish interior ministry said May 21. 

The German government says it has banned a leftist-terrorist newspaper published by Turkey's outlawed Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) and conducted raids across Germany in connection with the ban.

A criminal complaint has been filed against 27 prominent figures, including main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu, journalists and celebrities, for comments made on social media about the police operation to end the March 31 hostage crisis at Istanbul's Ça?layan Courthouse, which ended with the death of a prosecutor and his two captors. 

Lawyers, judges and prosecutors have eventually accepted being searched by x-rays and metal detectors at the entrance of Istanbul's main Ça?layan Courthouse, as part of heightened security measures at courthouses following a hostage crisis during which a prosecutor and his two captors were killed.

Turkey has lifted a ban on access to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube after social media websites complied with an Istanbul court's order to remove images of a Turkish prosecutor taken hostage by leftist militants, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
