Industrial production down by 5.7 %, foreign trade up 5.4 %

BELGRADE - The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia decreased by 5.7 percent in the period January - September 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, while only in September 2014 it went down by 16 percent compared to September 2013, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia released in a statement.

BELGRADE - The average net salary in Serbia in August 2014 amounted to RSD 45.610, and compared to the average net salary paid in July 2014, it went up by 0.9 percent in nominal terms and 1.1 percent in real terms, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia said in a release.

July brings 0.1 percent deflation in Serbia‚

BELGRADE - Retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in Serbia dropped 0.1 percent in July against the month before, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RSZ) said in a release on Tuesday.

Year-on-year inflation (July 2014-July 2013) was 2.1 percent, and compared to December 2013, the prices of goods and services increased 1.8 percent.

BELGRADE -- Serbia's external trade totaled USD 35.16 billion in 2013, which constitutes a 16.6 percent increase relative to the previous year.

The country has managed to reduce its foreign exchange deficit by 22.9 percent, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS) said on Wednesday.

Tourist visits: More international, fewer domestic tourists

BELGRADE – From January to May this year, Serbia saw a total of 786,333 tourist visits, down four percent from 2013, a result of the number of domestic tourist visits decreasing despite a larger number of foreigners arriving, data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia shows.
