Three quarters of Serbian farms active in livestock breeding

BELGRADE - A total of 77.5 agricultural holdings in the Republic of Serbia are engaged in livestock breeding, shows the data released on Monday by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS).

As many as 99.9 percent out of 489,364 farms engaged in livestock breeding are family-owned agricultural holdings.

Mixed farms dominate in Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian agriculture is dominated by mixed farms, since more than half of all the farms in the country (53.7 percent) belong to one of three groups of farms that both grow crops and breed animals, according to what has been said at the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.

Industrial production drops 6.3 percent

BELGRADE - Industrial production in Serbia was down 6.3 percent in January-October against a year earlier, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia said in a release Friday.

Industrial production fell 11.2 percent in October against October last year, and grew 2.7 percent compared to the 2013 average, according to the release.

BELGRADE -- Inter-annual inflation will total around 2.5 percent in the next few months, which is the upper limit of the target inflation rate, according to the NBS.

The central bank also said there is a chance for inflation to remain within the 4 percent plus or minus 1.5 percent target rate in some months.
