Turkey’s F-16 deal with Washington hangs in the balance over Ukraine transfer demand, report says

Washington is considering granting approval for the transfer of F-16 upgrade kits and the sale of 40 new F-16 fighter jets to Turkey, conditional on Turkey agreeing to transfer its existing fleet of older F-16s to Ukraine, broadcaster Haberturk has reported.

Hürjet performs takeoff test

Türkiye's light attack aircraft Hürjet has successfully passed its maiden flight test.

An F-16 fighting falcon jet accompanied Hürjet during its first flight at Mürted Airfield Command, an air base of the Turkish Air Force in the capital Ankara's northwest, on April 25.

The aircraft passed its first engine start test in early February.

‘Modernization plans of F-16s vital for Türkiye’

Türkiye has to give importance to the modernization plans to balance the air power in the Aegean in case of Greece's new aircraft projects, retired Turkish Air Force commander General Abidin Ünal has aid, adding that Türkiye should also rely on its domestic infrastructure.

One of the most discussed issues recently is the balance of power in the air force between Türkiye and Greece.
