Four specialized sergeants have been killed in the region of the Claw Lock Operation in northern Iraq, the Turkish Defense Ministry has announced.

"Four heroes were martyred, and two others were wounded" in clashes with the PKK terrorists on Sept. 11, a statement by the ministry said.

Turkish and Ukrainian military officials had a meeting in Ankara on July 4 to discuss the shipment of grain exports from Ukraine, the daily Hürriyet reported.

The officials exchanged views on bilateral and regional defense and security issues at the meeting held at the Defense Ministry.

Turkey has criticized Greece for escalating tension in the Aegean Sea by provocative flights close to the Turkish coast, reiterating Ankara's unchanged position for a peaceful resolution to pending problems between the two neighbors.

The Turkish Air Force has struck terrorist targets belonging to the YPG/PKK in northern Iraq and parts of northern Syria, Turkiye's National Defense Ministry said early on Jan. 2. 

The ministry announced in a statement that Operation Winter Eagle was carried out against terrorist sites in the Derik, Sinjar and Karachak regions which are used as bases by the terrorists.

A second batch of Turkish troops evacuated from the Afghan capital Kabul landed home in the Turkish capital on Aug. 27.

The plane carrying Turkish Armed Forces personnel from Afghanistan landed in Ankara at 13.10 p.m. local time (1010GMT).

Some 357 people, including 16 infants, evacuated from Afghanistan's capital Kabul arrived in Istanbul on Aug. 22.

They were first taken to Pakistan on a Turkish Air Force transport plane and then brought to Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight.

As many as 104 more Turkish nationals were flown out from Afghanistan's capital in a C-130 transport aircraft of the Turkish Air Force on Aug. 20.

Efforts to evacuate Turkish citizens from the war-torn country continue at the Hamid Karzai International Airport, and the citizens were rescued by Turkish security forces from areas in central Kabul.

After paying such a high price, Turkish Cypriots can never give up their independence, freedom, or sovereignty, said the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) president on Aug. 8.

At least five PKK terrorists were "neutralized" in airstrikes during Turkey's anti-terror operations in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry said on May 11 evening.

After being found in the Avasin-Basyan region, the terrorists were neutralized by the Turkish Air Force as part of Operation Pençe-Yıldırım, the ministry said on Twitter.
