The sides have reached an agreement regarding the transportation of Turkmenistan's natural gas through Azerbaijan and Georgia to Türkiye, and subsequently directing it toward the European market, the Turkish energy minister has announced.

The Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) has signed an LNG (liquefied natural gas) trade deal with ExxonMobil, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar has said.

Bayraktar, who traveled to the U.S. to hold talks on energy, announced the agreement on social media platform X.

Wind and solar power are supplying energy to Türkiye's large and crucial Silivri and Lake Tuz natural gas storage facilities.

The Silivri natural gas facility has a 4.2 megawatts wind power plant, which provides all the electricity the facility consumes, according to a statement by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.
