Incumbent President Klaus Iohannis is leading the first round of the presidential election, with 36.91%, followed by PSD candidate, Viorica Dancila - 23.45%, and candidate of USR-PLUS Alliance, Dan Barna - 14.19%, after counting the votes from 18,781 polling stations, Spokesman for the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) Mircea Preotescu said on Monday.

PSD's Ponta: Mrs Macovei wants a nation made of 20 million people with criminal complaints
Victor Ponta, candidate of the Alliance of the Social Democrats, the National Union for the Progress of Romania and the Conservatives (PSD-UNPR-PC) stated on Thursday, in Buzau County, referring to the criminal complaint filed by MEP Monica Macovei, that she probably wants a "Romanian nation made up of 20 million people with criminal complaints [against them]".
