Weather: Storm shifts today – Major problems yesterday in Thessaly and Central Macedonia
The weather will remain unstable today in most parts of the country. Rain and thunderstorms, possibly temporarily strong in some areas, are expected in central, eastern Macedonia, and Thrace in the early morning hours. Improvement is anticipated across the country by evening.
Forestry worker crushed by rock on Rhodes
A 66-year-old forestry worker was fatally injured on the island of Rhodes on Thursday after being crushed by a rock.
The accident occurred shortly after noon when the man, who was clearing the forest area from Eleousa to Prophet Elias, stepped on a piece of rock that gave way.
This caused the worker to fall down the slope, with the rock landing on top of him.

Cost of restoring damage from storms Daniel and Elias exceeds €3 bln, Mitsotakis says
The cost of the damage caused by last year's storms Daniel and Elias will exceed €3 billion, almost half of which is needed to repair road and rail infrastructure and to fix schools, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said.
PM to inaugurate central Greek highway section
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be present at the inauguration event of the Lamia-Kalambaka section of the Central Greek Highway (E65) on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Following that, the prime minister, as reported by government sources, will also attend and speak at the presentation on the restoration of damages caused by storms Daniel and Elias in Mouzaki, Karditsa.

Projects shelved in favor of Thessaly reconstruction

The railway link along the central Athens-Thessaloniki axis, previously disrupted by the damage caused during storms Daniel and Elias, was set to be restored Monday with the arrival of the first commercial train at the Thriasio Logistics Center.
Flooded roads in Chania, Crete
Streets flooded in Chania, Crete after storm Elias caused heavy rain on Wednesday.
The sudden storm broke out shortly after 3 p.m. turning several streets into torrents covering sidewalks, as reported neakriti.gr.
Shops also flooded in the city's old town.
