Turkish inflation climbs more than estimated in April
Consumer price inflation in Turkey rose more than expected last month, according to official data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜ?K) on May 4.
The Consumer Price Index rose 1.63 percent from March, pushing the annual rate of inflation to 7.91 percent in April from 7.61 in March, according to a statement from the TÜ?K.
Central Bank increases inflation forecast
The Turkish Central Bank has raised its 2015 year-end inflation rate estimate to 6.8 percent from 5.5 percent amid renewed discussions about the nature of the recent hike in consumer prices.
However, the Bank still sees a fall in the rate next year.
