Citizens of Bulgaria's Garmen Hold Peaceful Protest Against Illegal Buildings, Thefts

The residents of the Bulgarian village of Garmen held a peaceful protest on Tuesday against the illegal buildings in the Roma neighbourhood.

The citizens also declared themselves against the thefts, which have become more frequent in the region, private NOVA TV reports.

Hungary Looking into Prague-Varna Bus Bomb Incident

Hungarian investigators have found a highly inflammable substance in a bag purportedly containing a homemade bomb which was found on a bus traveling from Prague to Varna.

The bus had a majority of Bulgarian passengers and a Bulgarian driver. The suspicious package was found while the vehicle had stopped in Budapest. No-one was injured.

Interpol, Europol to Join Investigation on Murdered Boy Found in Suitcase

Interpol and Europol will assist the Bulgarian Interior Ministry in the investigation on the murdered baby boy, found in a suitcase near Bulgaria's Pasarel on Saturday.

The photo portrait of the child will be distributed to the police organizations that will provide the information to all member-states.

No Risk for Citizens after Bulgaria Ammo Warehouse Blast

The situation in the village of Iganovo, Southern Bulgaria, is under control after a series of explosions that rocked an ammo warehouse on Saturday evening, officials say.

Earlier, it was reported that the incident had taken place at a plant of the VMZ Sopot ammunition manufacturer.

No-one has been injured or hurt following the explosions.

Bulgaria's Ex Interior Minister Veselin Vuchkov Quits as MP

Bulgaria's Parliament has voted to terminate the term in office of MP Veselin Vuchkov, former Interior Minister.

The early termination of Vuchkov's term in office as MP was approved by 130 MPs, woth 4 votes against and 9 abstentions, according to reports of investor.bg.

Vuchkov's resignation from the post of Interior Minister was approved on Wednesday.

Georgi Kostov Appointed as New Interior Ministry Chief Secretary

Georgi Kostov has been appointed as new Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry, the President's press office announced on Wednesday.

President Rosen Plevneliev has signed a decree accepting the resignation of Svetlozar Lazarov and appointing Kostov to the top post, the press office said in a statement.

Bulgaria's Govt Proposes Georgi Kostov as New Interior Ministry Chief Secretary

Bulgaria's government has nominated Georgi Kostov as new Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry following the resignation of Svetlozar Lazarov.

The cabinet has proposed to President Rosen Plevneliev to accept Lazarov's resignation and appoint Kostov to the post.

Kostov currently is serving as Deputy Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry.
