Bulgarian Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov announced that decision to disband the Task Force is "logical".

The Task Force begun managing the situation with COVID-19 in Bulgaria at the end of February last year. Angelov expressed his opinion at a press briefing after the Council of Ministers issued a statement about the end of the Task Force.

The order for the dissolution of the NOHQ is not from now, the decision was taken on February 26, stated Health Minister Kostadin Angelov. Let us not politicize this step, because healthcare system can't be a punching bag for political jugglers. It makes perfect sense to disband this Headquarters after the end of this government's term of office.

The National Operational Headquarters has been disbanded as of today.

This was announced by the government information service. The headquarters was established by order of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020.

A second dose of a different vaccine should not be given. It is mandatory for patients to receive the second dose with the same specific vaccine that they have chosen to have protection.

As a result of renegotiation, Bulgaria expects to receive 2.7 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 in April and May, or by the middle of June at the latest, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said on Sunday while inspecting the construction of a sport hall in the southern village of Topolovo, accompanied by Youth and Sports Minister Krassen Kralev and Health Minister Kostadin Angelov

Health Minister Kostadin Angelov issued an order regulating the anti-epidemic measures in Bulgaria for the period April 12 - 30, the Health Ministry press centre informed on Thursday.

Under the threat of a possible protest issued by non-food hypermarkets  yesterday, the authorities decided to open them. Health Minister Kostadin Angelov announced that this will be written down in an order he will make public today. It will require stores to provide 8-10 sq m of shopping area per each customer.

Bulgaria's Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, on April 7, convened an extraordinary meeting of the National Vaccination Headquarters in connection with the information provided by the European Medicines Agency regarding the Oxford vaccine.

"In the last 14 days there has been a marked increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases, we are now at the highest point of the morbidity peak, the third in a row for the country. However, already there are one million people in Bulgaria - vaccinated or healed who have immunity, this gives us grounds to gradually ease the restrictive measures from today.

After the government announced a loosening of the anti-epidemic measures while our country reached an absolute record in the number of people infected with coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic, emergency medics came out with sharp criticism of the government.
