Djokovic begins record 378th week at top of ATP rankings
BELGRADE - Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic on Monday began his 378th week at the top of the ATP rankings, setting an absolute record in the category in both men's and women's tennis.
Djokovic surpassed Germany's Steffi Graf, who spent a total of 377 weeks in the world number one spot.
Tennis champion Jana Novotna dies at 49
Jana Novotna, the Czech tennis player who won the 1998 women’s singles at Wimbledon, has died at the age of 49.
A statement from the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) read: “After a long battle with cancer, Jana died peacefully, surrounded by her family in her native Czech Republic, aged 49.”

Tennis: Tecau and Srebotnik advance to quarterfinals of mixed doubles event at Roland Garros
Romanian-Slovenian pair formed by Horia Tecau and Katarina Srebotnik has qualified for the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles event of the Roland Garros tournament, the second Grand Slam tournament of the year, on Saturday, after defeating Indian-Swiss pair Leander Paes/Martina Hingis, seeded eighth in the event, by 6-7 (6), 6-3, 10-6.
Jankovic through to doubles semifinals in Tokyo
TOKYO - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic and Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain have secured their spot in the doubles semifinals at the WTA tournament in Tokyo.
The Serbian-Spanish pair beat the Russian-Australian combination Alla Kudryavtseva/Anastasia Rodionova 2-6, 6-3, 10-6.

Jelena Jankovic ousted in 4th round
NEW YORK - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic lest to Belinda Bencic from Switzerland 6(8)-6 6-3 in the 4th round of the US Open on Monday.
That match took two hours and the win made Bancic the second youngest quarterfinalist of in the history of the US Open, behind compatriot Martina Hingis, who was six months younger when she won the tournament back in 1997.
