RIK: Vucic won 55.02 pct of votes

BELGRADE - According to the latest figures released by the national election commission (RIK), Aleksandar Vucic won 55.02 pct, or 1,938,854 votes, in Sunday's presidential elections in Serbia, with 96.06 pct of the votes counted.

Sasa Jankovic is in second with 16.36 pct, or 576,600 votes.

SNS leader and Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic has declared his victory in the presidential elections held in Serbia on Sunday, April 2.

Vučić won Serbia's presidential election yesterday by a huge margin, confirming his domination of the Balkan country as he pursues a delicate balancing act between Europe and Russia.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic is projected to have won a clear victory in the country's presidential election. With most votes counted in Sunday's poll, he appears to have won about 55%, the threshold to avoid a run-off.

His closest challenger, Sasa Jankovic, has 15%, while satirical candidate Ljubisa Preletacevic is third with 9%.
