Stjepanovic claims European silver in London
LONDON - Serbia's top-ranked swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic won the silver medal in the 200 m freestyle event at the European Swimming Championships in London Wednesday.
Stjepanovic, who was the defending champion, finished in 1.46.26 - 16 hundredths of a second behind the winner, Sebastiaan Verschuren of The Netherlands, with Briton James Guy coming third in 1.46.42.

Shooting-Maksimovic wins "visa" for 2016 Rio Olympics
CHANGWON - London Olympic shooting vice-champion Ivana Maksimovic won a "visa" for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, after winning a silver medal at the 2015 ISSF World Cup in the Korean city of Changwon Saturday to meet the qualification standard.
Stjepanovic books his place at 2016 Olympic Games
EINDHOVEN - Serbian swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic achieved the "A" standard time for the Olympics in 400m freestyle at the 2015 Swim Cup in Eindhoven on Sunday .
In the final race, Stjepanovic finished second in a time of 3 minutes 48.85 seconds, which was enough to qualify for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

Stjepanovic wins bronze in 400m freestyle
DOHA - Serbia's best swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic won bronze in 400m freestyle at the World Swimming Championships on Friday.
In the final race, Stjepanovic scored the time of 3:38.17 minutes and won the first medal for the Serbian team at the world swimming championships.
In August, Stjepanovic won gold in 400m freestyle in the Olympic pool at the European championship.

Stjepanovic wins silver, bronze medals in Hong Kong
HONG KONG - Double European champion Velimir Stjepanovic won a silver and a bronze medal at the FINA Swimming World Cup 2014 in Hong Kong, the Serbian Swimming Federation said in a release on Friday.
Stjepanovic earned second-place honors in the men's 200m freestyle event finishing in 1:45.44, and picked up the bronze in 200m butterfly with a time of 1:55.69.
Stjepanovic finishes second at Moscow World Cup
MOSCOW - Serbia's most successful swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic won the second place in 200m freestyle at the FINA World Cup in Moscow on Sunday.
Stjepanovic finished the race in 1:43.92 minutes.
The winner was Australian Thomas Fraser-Holmes with 1:42.98.

Stjepanovic wins gold in 200 m freestyle
BERLIN - Serbian swimmer Velimir Stjepanovic won the gold medal in the 200 m freestyle event at the European championship in Berlin on Wednesday.
Stjepanovic swam phenomenally, was in the lead for the entire race and in the end took the gold by setting a new personal and national record of 1:45.78.
