Experts have encouraged the consumption of lionfish to control the spread of this invasive species in the seas in Turkey, saying that the fish have already been added to restaurants' menus and are being sold in big cities' fish markets.
Around 80 tons of bootleg wine seized at vinegar factory
Security forces have seized a total of 77 tons of bootleg wine at a vinegar factory in the Şarköy district of the northwestern province of Tekirdağ.
Teams from the local police force's Organized Crime and Smuggling Department figured that barrels with bootleg wine were being handled at a plant.

Original 'Nutuk' on display in Antalya
The original 95-year-old 'Nutuk,' written by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Ottoman letters, has been put on display at the Cemil Meriç Library in the southern province of Antalya.
The Kepez Municipality opened the exhibit at 9:05 am, the time when he died on Nov 10, 1938, at the age of 57.

Turkish athlete Şahika Ercümen broke the world record at variable weight freediving without using breathing on Oct. 26.
Ercümen managed to complete 100-meter diving with the time of 2 minutes and 53 seconds in offshore Kaş, Turkey's southern province of Antalya.
Byzantine church, tombs unearthed in Kaunos
A Byzantine-era church, tombs, and inscriptions have been found during excavations carried out in the ancient city of Kaunos, which was included on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2014.
The ancient city is located in the western province of Muğla's Dalyan district and on the right bank of the Dalyan Stream that connects Köyceğiz Lake to the Mediterranean Sea.

Magnitude 6 quake hits Turkey's Mediterranean region
A magnitude 6 earthquake jolted Turkey's Mediterranean region on Oct. 19 morning, according to the nation's disaster agency.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the quake's epicenter was off the coast of the Kaş district of Antalya province at 8.32 a.m. local time (0532GMT).
