2017–18 Greek Basket League

Aris has dropped to the bottom of the Basket League table

Historic Aris is left alone at the bottom of the Basket League after a 26-point loss at Ifaistos on Saturday, while Promitheas suffered a shock defeat at Rethymno.

Aris was for more than a decade the undisputed king of Greek basketball, in the 1980s and early 1990s, but their recent financial problems have deprived Thessaloniki's Yellows of much of their strength.

Greens and Reds need late rallies to win on the road

Rick Pitino's domestic debut on the Panathinaikos bench brought the champion's 10th win in as many Basket League games on Sunday, while Olympiakos braved the challenge of host PAOK to win at Thessaloniki.

The Greens were challenged during the first half at Patra by Promitheas, but overcame their host with an 86-69 score to extend their perfect record in the league.

Gastroenteritis forces postponement of Greens' game on Rhodes

Promoted club Peristeri surprisingly sits alone on top of the Basket League as it beat Lavrio at home and Panathinaikos's game at Kolossos was postponed.

At least five Panathinaikos players suffered from gastroenteritis and all clubs (including Olympiakos) agreed that the game scheduled to take place on Rhodes on Monday should be postponed. A new date will be set later.
